What Causes Severe Mood Swings And Sleepiness In A Woman?

I m inquiring about someone other than myself. A female that sleeps a lot, has uncontrollable mood swings such as happy one moment and very angry the next. Seems to be angry more than happy. No sex drive. Has aches and pains daily. Any ideas what this could be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that she may have depression, this would cause the symptoms that you mentioned.

Depression and anxiety are associated with physical symptoms as well such as the aches and pain that you mentioned.

Her GP can assess her to determine if this is a possible diagnosis and initiate treatment which would include medication and counselling.
The medication is usually for a short period of time , a few months but if needed for longer, this is also an option.

Counselling would help with the anger and mood swings. While her GP may be able to start and maintain the medication , may refer her for the counselling sessions.

I hope this helps
