What Causes Severe Migraine After A Chemical Stress Test?

I am scheduled for a PET scan for the heart where they will use radioactive tracers injected. Several years ago, I had a chemical stress test and ended up with a severe migraine afterwards. I am severely allergic to iodine dye. I know it s not the same substance, but I m concerned I will end up with another migraine. Your thoughts?

Hi,

In PET scan we are using radioactive labelled glucose (FDG) and iodine dyes are not used. The FDG does not provoke migraine attack and you can safely undergo the procedure without any concerns.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
