What Causes Severe Lower Back Pain Along With Frequent Urination?

I am experiencing severe pain in my lower back area, feel the need to urinate, but cannot without extreme pain. No appetite, cannot sleep comfortably. I am 65 and taking medicine for gout and high blood pressure. I am overweight. I am a caucasian male.

Hi I need to know if you are having difficulty in the beginning of urination and in maintaining a stream of urine?. Are your symptoms more prominent in the night? How long have you been experiencing these symptoms? If the symptoms are of very recent onset i suspect a urinary tract infection. In any case a visit to your doctor is warranted.
