What Causes Severe Leg Cramps Despite Having Spinal Arthritis?
I have leg and foot cramps at night mostly ,when laying down, I have severe arthritis in my back and I m a type 2 diabetic, I can only sleep laying down for about 2 1/2 hours a night and then i have to get up to go to the bathroom and then when I lay back down I last about 1 hour or so and I have to get up again or start having leg or foot cramps. I end up setting in a chair the rest of the night. The Doctor I have cut my phliodipine back and that helped considerably but still have alot of probelms.

The severe leg cramps with spinal arthritis indicate underlying nerve root compression at cauda equina levels at spinal cord level below L2 level. However, if you can provide me your MRI spine reports, I can guide further more precisely. Till that time, intake of Gabapentin and tramadol hydrochloride would help great extent.
