What Causes Severe Knee Pain?

I have knee pain and I found a bruise on the back side of my knee on the crease. What is the problem I have? I have felt knee pain for a few months already when I walk and sit. Also, my knee sometimes locks and cracks when I sit. I crack it when I bend my knee back and forth when my knee gets tight. Also, my knee does not really hurt when I run which I find weird.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your symptoms could be due to the arthritis-like problem. I suggest you investigate with digital knee joint X-ray to guide you further and to rule out underlying knee joint pathology.

If needed your doctor will prescribe RA factor, CBC, ANA estimation for further work up. You should consult an orthopedic surgeon for the examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
