What Causes Severe Jaw Pain After A Dental Procedure?
I had a filling replaces in lower molar about 2 weeks ago, and now my jaw hurts when I open it a lot, and my ear hurts. What is causing that? Did the dentist do something wrong? Is there a nerve that is connected in the lower back jaw that goes to the ear?
As per your complain pain on opening the jaw when you had filling replaced can be due to opening of the nerve fibres due to deep cavity formation that can lead to nerve irritation and pain..
In case if the pain is specifically present on opening the mouth, it can be due to any disturbance associated with jaw joint..
The either condition can be ruled out with an x ray so consult a dentist and get evaluated and get a Panoromic x ray done.. As of now take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen and take a soft diet.. Avoid excess mouth opening..
Hope this helps..
