What Causes Severe Headache And Body Ache?

On Monday woke up ache all over and headache not terrible but uncomfortable. Was air traveling so about 4 hours after getting up the aching and headache were worse and felt like I had a fever. Took 400mg of Ibuprofen. worked all day seemed okay. through the night felt very chilled and uncomfortable tossing and turning all night. when I got up in the morning felt a lot like the morning before so took 400mg Ibuprofen. took another 400 about 6pm. I slept a little better still felt chilled through the night. did the same dosages at about the same time as the day before. Wednesday night was the opposite sleeping instead of being chilled was sweating. Thursday morning felt a lot better did take any thing all day. Thursday night got the chills a little bit and woke up with a headache. pain seems to be below and a little behind the left ear at the base of the skull. Took Ibuprofen flew home seemed okay but later in the day little body ache headache and wife thought I felt warm. took Ibuprofen slept pretty good through the night. woke up with a little headache. headache got worse through the morning so I felt maybe it may be a sinus issue so I tried Sudafed the pain went a way some but not great. I took some Ibuprofen about a half hour ago and headache seems to be getting better. Normally I don t take any medications and am concerned that I may have an ear or sinus infection.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Considering your symptoms, I think it's more a viral syndrome (common cold), it may continue for more than seven days.
However, the pain behind the ear indicates a left ear infection, but it might also be sinusitis or mastodiditis.
You can continue using Sudafed (two tablets three times a day) for 3-4 more days, it helps relieve headache, and reduce inflammation.
If your health condition gets worse, or if you don't improve after 3-4 days treatment, you can consult your doctor for a physical examination, and he can start you antibitiocs.
