What Causes Severe Headache After Taking Antibiotics For Sphenoid Sinusitis?

i think my son has Sphenoid sinusitis. He has finished a course of anti biotics and is not better. He family doctor will not see him again until he has seen a neurologist. He has had a severe headache for three weeks and has not left his room. Should I wait to see the neurologist or should i go to the ER. if I wait is there anything i can do to treat him?

As per history he has headache .It has many reasons to be severe headache so according to me first ruled out if there is any neuro deficit or not.so to do this sit in front of him and tell him to raise one hand above head and try to fall slowly , similarly do other hand as well as two legs also.Secondly do a hot and cold skin test ,take two test tubes keep hot water in one and ice in other.Tell him to close eyes and you touch on his skin and tell what is the sensation he feels if he can identify sensations then we can say there is no neuro deficit at all
.Check his BP if it is normal or not.Check TSH level to ruled out endocrinology problems.check body temp at every 6 hours to ruled out any infections present.Also do a blood test of total white cell count and blood DC .Finally for sinus if he had taken antibiotics try to complete it's course First.If possible add an antihistamine sinarest or pain killer like briten 600 .So do not worry at all not a major problem at all.
