What Causes Severe Hair Fall And Fatigue While Suffering From Hypothyroidism?

I have hypothyroidism since approx 1996. I ve had a lot of hair loss & tiredness as a result. In recent months my hair loss is excessive; handsful every day especially after shampooing & styling. It falls out during the day as well. I see it everywhere & when I dustmop or vacuum, there are tons of it. I m also tired & sleepy much of the time.

Hi welcome to health care magic...

You are having hypothyroidism and symptoms related to it..

You have not mentioned your TSH report and serum t4 value...
According to the value dosage of levothyroxine has to be adjusted...
So first get your TSH report done...

With control of TSH value below five you will improve gradually...

If broken hair showing exclamatory mark at root and family history there than you can have androgenic alopecia..
The permanent treatment of hair loss is hair transplantation...
Minoxidil useful for preventing further hair loss

Hope this will help
Take care
