What Causes Severe Fatigue And Cough After Recovering From Bronchitis?

I had a difficult bout of bronchitis, was on antibiotics, steroids and cough syrup. Additionally I have some seasonal asthma, or so I think. I have inhalers, spiriva and monteluskcet. I m over the infection but by evening I have difficulty breathing and a tight cough, also extreme fatigue. Onset of the bronchitis was a month ago, I should be well by now

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

In bronchitis, dyspnea and cough can be developed along with chest pain. If even after a month you are not improving than following work-up is done:
• Sputum examination
• Auscultation
• CBC
Spirometry (it will assess severity and help in further management)

If you have asthma then it will be diagnosed by spirometry. If bronchoconstriction present than bronchodilator inhaler can be prescribed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
