What Causes Severe Fatigue And Breathlessness While Having Hypothyroidism?

I AM 72YRS. OLD .IDO NOT HAVE ANY ENERGY TO DO ANYTHING THAT REQUIRES LIFTINTING WALKING UPHILL AT REG PACE OR EXERCITION.I GET SHORT OF BREATH . I HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE . TRAKE MEDS FOR THIS TAKE CHLORESTERAL MED. I AM5FT 3 IN. WEIGHT 193 LBS .IHAVE WENT WIDE OPEN ALL MY LIFE UNTILL THE LAST 3 YRS . NOW IAM ABOUT ON STOP . IHAVE TALK TO MY DR. BUT DOESN SEEM TO GET ANSWER . I ALSO HAVE LOW THYROID. IAM ON MEDS FOR THIS . ANYTHING WOULD HELP

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If the thyroid hormone levels are low then this would contribute to your fatigue/loss of energy ,though it is not normally associated with shortness of breath.

You would also need to have your heart evaluated since there is a history of high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Both of these can cause heart disease which can then cause shortness of breath with activity.

This would include an ECG and possibly an echo,depending on the findings.
