What Causes Severe Fatigue After Taking Levothyroxine?

I started taking a low dose of Levothyroxine about three weeks ago. I have been incredibly fatigued and can t seem to wake up for the entire last week. Is this a potential side effect of this medication? Could it be a problem with this medication and other medications I take? or should I contact my physician about this?

Hi,

The first and foremost thing is that why you started to take Levothyroxine and was it prescribed for Hypothyroidism or not. Artificial Thyroxin hormone should increase your basic metabolic rate rather than slowing it down. You didn't elaborate other medication being given to you. I would suggest to you to please see your doctor and tell him about problems being faced.

Hope that helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
