What Causes Severe Dryness In The Skin And Lips After Taking Fosamax?

I am looking for sides effects of Fosamax. I have the ends of my fingers have dried out, splitting of skin, sore and bleeding, nails chipping, peeling and soft, lips chapped around edges and inside of ears and nose are dry feeling. Can t detect anything on my feet. Started Fosamax in October of 2016 and figured lips and fingers might be from the weather in Wisconsin but its not going away no matter what lotions I use.

Hi,

Fosamax (Alendronate) can cause skin rashes, sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or tongue or inside the mouth. In case of doubt, you need to discontinue the offending drug and to see whether lesions dissolve.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
