Hello,

I can understand your concern. The dry mouth and nausea you are experiencing might be related to the side effects of Levothyroxine you have been taking for a long time.

You can try sipping more water from time to time and along with meals.
Avoid spicy and salty food.
You can also keep chewing sugarless chewing gums to stimulate the salivary flow.
You can try tablets such as Pilocarpine 5 mg (Salagen) 3-4 times a day depending on the need. The effects of the drug may last for 3-5 hours.
The tips given above may help you with dry mouth and nausea.

However, the memory problem you are experiencing may not be related to Levothyroxine and if it too severe, you might need to consult a physician for examination and investigations. If the tips for dry mouth and nausea do not work, you can consult your prescribing doctor for reducing the dose of the medication, if possible.

I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HCM. Let me know if you have follow up questions.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
