What Causes Severe Dizziness While On Medication For Depression?

I woke up with extreme dizziness this morning, the room was spinning . It took a few minutes to start to feel ok but it was frightening. I had no pain and I had my yearly checkup months ago at the Doctors office and was fine although a cholesterol drug was suggested. I havent taken it. I am on a low dose anti anxiety/depression drug and have been for more than 15 years.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Further information will be needed to know the exact cause of your symptoms. Possible causes may include hypoglycemia, orthostatic hypotension, anemia, ionic imbalances, and vitamin deficiency. I will suggest you just rest well, eat healthy, and observe. If symptoms persist, you see the doctor for examination. It is less likely to be caused by your drugs as you have been on it for over 15 years with no such effects.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mbuomboh Veranso
