What Causes Severe Cramps In The Lower Abdomen?

I am a 6 2 18 year old female and I currently weight 176. I workout regularly. For the past 2 and a half years anytime I run I experience an unbearable cramp on my lower abdomen. The pain happens whether I m in the best shape of my life or not, also even if I run 4 miles or 1 or just run sprints I still get the pain. It s to the point when I go to the gym I know I have to run so I do it first because I go sit in the bathroom for about 10 minutes after waiting for the pain to go away. I m attending the university of Arkansas next year for a volleyball scholarship so pushing myself and body is about to go up a whole new level and I would like to get this problem solved. Usually when I m at the gym I run first because I know after I m going to have to just sit in the bathroom for 10 minutes until the pain goes away. I m a healthy eater, my family refers to me as the clean eater of the family. For any extra medical things that might go into the issue, I had to get my gallbladder out last summer because it was only working 2% and I have hemangioma in my right arm (can t imagine the hemangioma playing into the cramps but just mentioning). Thank you for any help! I m really hoping to resolve this issue because it s become very painful and inconvenient. I must say this is a regular thing also, don t matter where I am with my menstrual cycle and I m not on birth control.

Hi, I think you should go for a pelvic examination by a gynecologist. You should also do a ultrasound to see the uterus and ovaries. It can be due to endometriosis or adenomyosis or some ovarian pathology. Also, we have to rule out appendicular pathology.
