What Causes Severe Cramps In The Abdomen After A Medical Abortion?

I underwent a medical abortion today. 2 misoprostol tablets were placed inside my cervix. 4 hours afterwards, I started experiencing major cramps, accompanied by fever and some shivering. 6 hours after the pill was given, I bled brown discharge with mild clots. Now there is only intermittent spotting and I am not experiencing any heavy bleeding. Is it normal or has the abortion failed?

I do understand your concern

“As” per your clinical history is concerned it is normal to get cramps after taking medications and procedure is successful, so discuss with your treating doctor to add a course of antibiotics to prevent any infection only.
