General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You are having severe cramping and diarrhea with blood in the stool. You are suggested to keep yourself adequately hydrated with water and fluids. Stay at rest and take antidiarrheal. To get relieve from cramps and abdominal pain you can take proton pump inhibitor or Spasmol (spasmoproxyvon). Bleeding in stool indicates bleeding somewhere in your digestive tract like colitis, peptic ulcer, angiodysplasia, esophageal problems, polyps, ulcers, etc.

Bleeding that happens higher up in the digestive tract may make stool appear black and tarry. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get stool test (R/E and S/C) along with investigations like Barium X-ray. colonoscopy, nasogastric lavage, Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), angiography, etc., to detect the pathology causing the symptoms. You will be accordingly treated.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
