What Causes Severe Cough Along With Abdominal Pain?

Abdominal pain from coughing, gurgling cough, no mucus. Breathing okay. Only sleep sitting up. taking benylin for dry cough… going on 5 days. Seeing family doctor tomorrow. First time, sleeping without lots of coughing. Checking and listening for breathing. Sound asleep 2hrs and counting.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe cough along with abdominal pain. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may order blood test, stool test, ultrasound or take history to confirm the diagnosis. Doctor may prescribe antibacterial or antiviral depending upon the diagnosis. Avoid intake of cold carbonated beverages and outside food. You should take cough expectorants. For now eat light and non spicy in small and frequent meals and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain . Doctor may also refer you to urologist for UTI problem .
