Hi, Doctor. Just a little history before I explain my problem here. I have had ongoing GI issues that we have been unable to find the source of for over two years now. It is standard that I have a bowel movement no more than once a month. So, a week ago, on 6/14/14, I had a bowel movement that contained an awful lot of bright red blood. It was also covered in mucous (it is normal for my stool contain A LOT of mucous). I was slightly alarmed but decided to wait it out to see if it happened again. For the rest of the week up until yesterday I continued to have a small amount of bloody mucous coming from my rectum. Yesterday, 6/23/14, I had another BM that contained a lot of bright red blood and more mucous than normal. I ve been extremely lethargic all week. I also noticed a decrease in my ability to concentrate, and I have been experiencing some dizziness/lightheadedness. My main question is, should i seek emergency medical treatment or not?
