Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have severe coccyx pain ONLY when lying down, or when I press on it. It does not hurt at all when walking, dancing or any other activity. When I lay in a certain position I cannot feel my left leg and I was taken to hospital twice with suspected TIA because of numbness right along my left arm but no tests showed TIA, I am a 42 year old female and I have started to leak urine quite a lot and not sure if this is related? Please can you let me know if you think the numbness in my arm and leg are connected to the severe coccyx pain? Thank you
I did not realise that I had to pay maybe that should have been stated prior to me asking the question, as much as I really need the answer I do not have the fee as I am out of work at the moment and £15 would buy me some food for my children. I thank you for your time.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello, Thanks for your query. The pain in the coccyx that you have described can be related to coccydynia. You need to do hot sitz bath to decrease the inflammation in those joints.Do hot fomentation over sacrum. It will take weeks to months to subside.
Use ring cushion and take sitz bath [sitting in lukewarm water for 10 min] Take analgesic like nucoxia 90 once daily along with tab methylcobalamine 1500 mcg once daily. If not relieved with all these methods then local injection may be required. You can take this consulting your doctor. Clinically spinal origin of pain needs to be ruled out, if required MRI spine can be done.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care
