Hi... Bleeding from rectum most commonly occurs from Hemorrhoids. Other causes include polyps, rectal ulcer and etc.
Since the lady is chronic alcoholic she may have liver cirrhosis with portal hypertension which increases pressure in Rectal veins and can cause haevy bleeding. So i would recommend,
1. Meet an gastroenterologist/surgeon as soon as possibble.
2.Get her colonoscopy done to know source of bleeding.
3.Get her Haemoglobin levels and coagulation profile.
