Hi,

Severe arm pain can have various causes, including:
* Repetitive strain injury: This is a common cause of arm pain, especially in young adults who engage in activities that involve repetitive motions, such as typing or playing sports.
* Nerve compression or injury: Nerve compression or injury, such as carpal tunnel syndrome, can cause arm pain, tingling, or numbness.
* Muscle or tendon strain: Overuse or injury to the muscles or tendons in the arms can cause pain, especially if you engage in activities that involve repetitive motions.
* Arthritis: Arthritis can cause joint pain and stiffness, which can radiate into the arms.
* A pinched nerve in the neck or spine: A pinched nerve in the neck or spine can cause pain, numbness, or weakness that radiates into the arms.
* Poor posture: Poor posture, such as slouching or hunching over, can cause muscle strain and tension, which can lead to arm pain.

It is recommended that you see a healthcare provider to determine the underlying cause of your arm pain. Imaging tests, such as an X-ray or MRI, may be needed to help diagnose the problem. In the meantime, you can try using over-the-counter pain medications, applying heat or ice to the affected area, and practicing good posture to alleviate your symptoms.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hi,

It can be simple muscle fatigue, over-exertion or tendonitis, sprain, so need physical examination by an orthopedist and then if needed specific tests can be done. You may apply ice pack or frozen peas for 20 mins at that area, if swelling then compression bandage, if skin is not broken and not applying other topical and not covered with bandage then only apply topical Capzasin P .025% or Zostrix.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
