What Causes Severe Ankle And Feet Pain After Taking Nuvigil?

I have been on Nuvigil for going on a year now and I experienced extreme feet and ankle pain. I have seen several doctors for this and was diagnosed with osteo arthritis and fibromyalgia. I recently went off of my medication for seven days to have a new sleep apnea and MSLT test done to see how my narcolepsy is advancing and have been back on my medication for 2 days. Today I am experiencing some feet pain in my joints I m curious to know if it is from my medication?

Hi Dear ,

Welcome HCM,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe ankle and feet pain after taking Nuvigil . Well there can be many reasons for symptom you mention in query like achilles tendinitis , bone spurs , bursitis , diabetic neuropathy , gout , osteoarthritis , plantar fasciitis and tendinitis . Side effects of certain medicine can also cause such symptoms . I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order X-ray , CT scan and blood test. Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant , vitamin supplement and physical therapy . For now give your feet proper rest , put your feet in hot water tub with one spoon salt in it , do gentle massage with flax seed oil and avoid wearing high heels try to wear sport shoes .
