What Causes Severe Acid Reflux After A Tonsillectomy?
My wife had a tonsillectomy almost 3 months ago and still is dealing with horrible acid reflex, to the point that she can t sleep at night. Our ENT Dr has had little to no concern has recommended over the counter acid reflex remedies... is this truly normal, for this long. Should we ask for 2nd opinion?
Hi, I would suggest your wife to take the prescribed OTC medications as directed for few more days before taking a second opinion. Along with medications, you need to keep these points in mind. 1) Avoid sleeping on right side. Do sleep on left side to minimise reflux. 2) Avoid spicy foods or other items that contributes to reflux symptoms If the symptoms persist even after the above measures, you can consult a physician/surgeon for further evaluation. I hope the above information helps you. Thanks for writing into healthcaremagic. Have a wonderful day.
