What Causes Severe Abdominal Pain With History Of Heart Failure?

Hello. I am a 40 year old woman just diagnosed with congestive heart failure. I have 10% of my heart working. I have foot/leg swelling, fatigue, and SEVERE BELLY PAIN. The pain is so bad I double over when walking. It s also very bad when I am upset or stressed out & short of breath. Why am I having such horrible pain in my stomach, when my heart is the problem?? Any help will be so appreciated, as I am very scared. Thank you, Christina

Hi,

As you said you are having heart failure and you are having tummy pain. First can you elaborate the pain where exactly the pain is and is it on the right side mostly or whole tummy?

What happens in heart failure is actually, the heart is unable to pump blood efficiently and blood start collecting more in the liver we called this congested hepatomegaly which can cause pain and it usually give you pain on your right side of your tummy but there are other causes as well as I need to know which medications are you taking where the pain is what type of pain is it like cramping or dull or sharp.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
