What Causes Severe Abdominal Cramps And Vaginal Bleeding While On Microgestin?

Hello. I ve been taking microgestin fe 1/20 for almost two months now. I started taking it the sunday before my period and had my period at the time i usually do which was on my first week of active pills. I didn t get my period on my inactive pills or have any kind of bleeding at all (which worried me a little). I am now on my second month, third week of active pills and am experiencing terrible cramps and moderate bleeding. My breasts have also seemed to grow a little and are very tender. My sex drive has decreased and I have random outbursts of depression that last a coule hours to a couple days. I am very concerned I am pregnant and would really appreciate some advice.

Hi You are most probably having PMS - pre menstrual syndrome. It is nothing to worry. All the symptoms you are experiencing are quite normal. If you are bleeding vaginally there is not much chance that you are pregnant. Have you noticed clots? once this period ends it would be wise to start with active pills. If your bleeding is heavy or your passing clots or if the bleeding lasts more than your regular period kindly see a doctor. I hope this answered your questions. Take care :)
