What Causes Severe Abdominal Cramps Along With Nausea During Menstruation?

Hi, Last Friday my period started, and I usually suffer from quite bad cramps, however this time they were so bad I was bed ridden for the weekend. The stomach pains were horrible, I was vomiting, feverish and had very severe joint and muscular aches, to the point that I couldn t even turn my head. As of today, the symptoms seems to have eased slightly, however I have noticed a rather large amount of blood in my stool, which has never happened before. I had every intention of visiting the local doctor, however I would like to know if I should be more concerned than I currently am. I have a feeling this is just related to it being that time of the month, but i want to know if I should wait for a week and see if the issues continue or seek medical assistance immediately.
