What Causes Sensitivity To Vinegar Smell?

Hi, I have been experiencing a strange vinegar type smell in my nose for some time now. I have also lost part of my sense of smell. Not sure if you are aware of it but I tried that peanut butter measurement test and it was practically at my nose before I could smell it. Thanks For any suggestions.
