What Causes Seizures And Fatigue While Treating Hypertension?

I have Ortho static hypertension and have seizures usually when seated or after exerting myself. My seizures are often confused as blackout periods, but I don t lose consciousness. I begin trembling, then go slack, with gurgling and sometimes saliva dribbles out of my mouth, and I jerk mildly. It might last 30 seconds or 5 minutes. I want to know if there is a way to control the seizures and its causes. I am an 87 year old woman.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The orthostatic hypotension and fatigue indicate lowering of blood pressure via anti hypertensive medication with mechanism at renin angiotensin aldosterone system and electrolyte imbalances. You need an immediate consultation with your treating physician to manage the dose alteration in your current BP pill. Till that time, drink plenty of liquids to maintain hydration and blood pressure.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
