What Causes Seizures Along With Metallic Taste And Palpitations?

I ve had afib for around 20 years. However, I developed aortic stenosis and had to replace the aortic valve with a pig valve Jan. 29, 2 years ago. I now have 2 concerns... The doctor, since the operation, has had me on warfarin 5mg/day one day & 7mg/day next day; 25mg metoprolol/day; & 25mcg digoxin/day. I thought I had been getting dizzy from the medicine, which started about 4-5 months ago. I have since found out that I ve been having mild seizures. (my stepdaughter is studying to be a doctor) So now I only take half of the Metoprolol, and some days none. However, there has been a couple of nights in the last 2 weeks I ve woken up in the middle of the night with that metallically taste in my mouth, which indicates I had a seizure. And just yesterday, I was sitting in my home office and had another one, which I hadn t taken any Metoprolol. They last, I m guessing anywhere from 2-3 minutes... And my second concern, I was in one of my client s offices this past Friday and my heart just started beating a hundred miles an hour . I finished what I was doing and went out to my car and sat for a few minutes until it slowed down and then drove home. I noticed when I got home it had gotten in a normal sinus rhythm. Which it hasn t been in over 25 years. However, it s beating really slow, in the high 50 s and low 60 s. I don t think that s normal, not for me. But, it s beating in a normal rhythm. Unbelievable...! Actually, now that I think about it, I really have a third concern, and it should have been my first one listed. About 3 weeks ago I was parking my car and my left eye (my good eye, my left is a lazy eye ) went blind. It was like it was filling up with muddy water from the bottom up... In about 10 minutes, it gradually came back. I have had this happen in both eyes a couple of months before at different times, but only half the way up. It wasn t in a straight line. It was jagged like a shark bite . I looked this up on the computer and it said if someone has had this happen to go straight to the emergency room. But I didn t know that... That s it... Thanks in advance for your answers...

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The attack on the eye was a transient ischemic attack or a mini stroke in the eye and it is an ominous symptom . You need to see a cardiologist now before a stroke in the brain or a cardiac arrest happens.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
