My grandson had viral meningitis when he was 11years old and he had seizures in the hospital from the meningitis. He is still having seizures and he is now 15 and is taking Trilepital highest dose they can give him. He has done multiple overnight studies with EEG. His neurologist has never ordered an MRI is this normal or is it reasonable for my daughter to ask for MRI. Thank you

Hello,

As a rule, there may be seizures after meningitis.
You should ask your neurologist for MRI Brain.
It should be done as a workout in follow up to seizure.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

With Regards,
Dr. Varinder Joshi.
