What Causes Scrotal Pain At The Orchidectomy Incision Site?

I had an inguinal orchiectomy to remove my right testicle in July 2o1o. I recovered fine, but for the past couple days have had occasional pain on the right side of my scrotum and where the incision was. Is this normal and something that may occur from time to time, or should I consult my doctor?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.

After the surgery is done, stitches are put in to hold the tissues and the skin together for proper healing.
During the healing stage many of the nerves can get entrapped in the stitch or the scar tissues, causing such pain.

So do not worry at the moment if there are no other symptoms.
Visit the Urologist who operated you if there is swelling / pain / redness / tenderness/ or any problem that you feel must be seen by him .
I find this answer helpful
