What Causes Scrotal Discomfort?

M/ 18/ 6ft/ Healthy but slim build. No previous conditions in area Hi there. Recently I have been experiencing a bizarre sensation in my scrotum and in the area where it joins my body. It isn t necessarily painful, just uncomfortable. I may be thinking about it too much and therefore imagining it, and I also have been self examining, which may have aggravated the discomfort. Stretching my legs seems to alleviate the pain, and it generally not too noticeable, but If i think about it I tend to notice it. It is kinda similar to blue balls , which I have had before, but it is more consistent. Hope this helps and that you can help, Should I be concerned? Or is it just me tugging away at my hair and scrotum trying to seee what the problem is that s the issue?

Urologist 's  Response
Hello
Thanks for query
The discomfort in scrotum and groin that you have could be due to pne of the following reasons.
1) Infection of either spermatic cord (Funicullitis)
2) Infection of Epididymis (Epididymitis).
3) Infection of Testicles ( Orchitis)
4) Mild Varicocele

It needs to be confirmed by clinical examination by a qualified Generaal surgeon or Urologist and by following basic test
1) Urine Routine
2) Ultrasound Scanning of Scrotum
3) Color Doppler study of scrotum .

Take antibiotic like Ciprofloxcin along with anti inflammatory medication like Diclofenac twice daily for a week.

Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.
