What Causes Scaly Rashes On The Face?

Hi my daughter is 10 years old and recently started puberty (about 2 1/2 months ago). Over the past few days, her face has become blotchy in parts and looks like dry skin. Its a little rough to touch and she said it is not itchy. What could it be? And could it be down to puberty? I never had anything like this when I started puberty but I was 13 years old. Should I take her to a doctor or just buy an over the counter product from the pharmacy? Please help.

As per your query you have symptoms ofscaly rashes on the face which could be due to presence of dental abscess which is leading to facial space infection and apart from that it could be due to contact dermatitis due to allergy , sunburn and systemic causes such as viral infection causing herpes. I would suggest you to consult dermatologist and go for blood test and skin test. He/she may prescribe antibiotics/antiviral depending upon your condition. Avoid exposure to sunlight and wash your face with antiseptic soap. Take over the counter antihistamine drug like benadryl. Drink plenty of water.
