What Causes Salty Taste In The Mouth And Stomach Cramps?

I have a problem , my mouth seems to be salty all of the time ,has been like this for at least two months..? My doctor prescribed nexium( esomeprazole). Have had some cramping pains that come and go ,but wouldn't call it reflux. Also I have had continuous flem running down back of throat and head cold for 6 weeks ongoing . Should I take nexium?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain salty taste in mouth along with continuous post nasal drip and head cold can be all due to Sinus infection or Sinusitis..
So for this taking Nexium will not relieve you and you need to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and PNS view x Ray of sinuses can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly...
If Sinusitis is ruled out, a course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, saline nasal irrigation, decongestants like Phenylephrine, decongestant nasal spray like Xylometazoline, steam inhalation can help..

For stomach cramps and pain consult a Gastroenterologist and get evaluated and an Endoscopy can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.
As of now take antispasmodic painkillers like dicyclomine and Mephenemic acid combination by consulting a local doctor..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
