I had a tooth extraction lower right side and a bone graft in November. The stitches were removed early December. Every day and still I have a salty taste on that side of my mouth and on my lips. What could be causing this? It is a very salty taste on that side of my mouth only.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain a salty taste in mouth is at times seen after bone graft placement but slowly it weans off as there os bone formation and healing takes place..
But in your case as it is a continued phenomena you should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated as there can be some other causes like infection in the graft site leading to pus drainage which can lead to salty taste, Salivary gland infection, side effect of certain medication etc..
After correct diagnosis only a proper treatment can be planned..
As of now you can do gargles with chlorhexidine mouth wash and preferably use a flavoured one..
Maintain a good oral hygiene..

Hope this information helps..
