What Causes Sagging Scrotum?

Hi there. Wonder if you have any advice you could give me. Over the past few years my scrotum has become very saggy and is very uncomfortable underneath where the excess skin gets caught and rubs and pinches! Feel like i need a scrotum reduction or something. Already been to the doctor about it and she just said it was "my shape" and there's nothing that can be done. She said there didnt look like there was anything wrong (apart from the sagging) and just gave me some cream just incase the sweat or whatever was causing irritation. But it's the excess skin that's really un bearable, especially when i walk and it's stopping me from walking anywhere or excersicing an generally ruining my life.

Tried wearing different underpants n clothes, but it's uncomfortable even walking naked and/or with "support". And tried using cream to stop the rubbing but it doesnt work. Can't see any surgeries in the UK offering this type of reduction. don't know wat to do!!! :(

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for query.
I can understand the problem you must be facing due to too much sagging of the scrotal skin as this is causing you symptoms.
I would advise you to consult a General Surgeon or an Urologist and I am sure he shall address the issue and get you operated to remove the unnecessarily sagging skin.
Till then try sitting in a bub with cold water as this may allow to shrink it. IF the cold water bath is not helping you, this means that there is some problem with the rarest of rare cause of having absence of the dartos muscles of the scrotal skin.
Another possibility is of a very large hernia or varicocele. Get a color doppler and ultrasonography to see if there is some primary cause and this will help you to get a proper diagnosis and get a proper treatment.
I find this answer helpful
