What Causes Rotten Smell From Ear And Head?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... I can smell a rotten smell coming from somewhere in my head, more noticeably when I bend down. Also my right ear has smelly wax. The smell is similar to that of pus from a boil or an ingrown pimple that you can squeeze out every few days for yrs and yrs. The smell is not every day and my nose does not smell when I blow it either. What is this?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms could be suggestive of a sinus infection or cyst. For this reason, I recommend performing a sinus X-ray study and then consulting with an ENT specialist for a physical exam (including the ear and the nose).

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
