What Causes Right-sided Pain And Pressure In The Rib Area After A Blunt Injury?

I had a blunt injury to my lower, right rib cage about two weeks. It felt as though something broke, possibly a rib, and I felt lots of pressure and pain on, I reckon, my liver, which has been continuously hurting just as much and then some since then. My back is starting to hurt as well. What s the prognosis and/or diagnosis and how long will it take for my liver, if the problem was there, to heal? Please, email me at YYYY@YYYY Thank you.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a contusion.

As of now you can use analgesics/anti inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
