What Causes Repeated Fractures In An Elderly Female?

Hi Just found out my sister has the third fracture in her back in the past 6 weeks. First two were treated by radiology by putting cement in her back She is 82 and after the two surgeries also had gall bladder surgery. She is very weak. We have ask to have a consultation about seeing a spine specialist. We don't kmow what to do?

The following reasons could be the cause for repeated fractures in an elderly female.
1. Mineral and vitamin deficiencies namely calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and Vitamin D, which will lead to weak and fragile bones due to osteoporosis.
2. Bony secondaries due to metastasis from a primary cancer.
She needs to be evaluated by certain radiological investigations like CT and MRI scans.
Kindly consult Orthopaedician in this regard for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
