What Causes Reduction Of ESR Count?

Hi..., i am vasavi.... My son is 3 years old and has fever from past one week... All the tests for fever is negative but the esr count is 80... He gets rashes on his body when fever is high it gradually reduces... How will esr reduce and please suggest me what kind of foods to be given now....

ESR is 'Erythrocyte Sedementation Rate'. It is determined at 1 hour.
ESR is a non-specific test. It only has prognostic value and does not help in diagnosis of a particular disease.
It helps to detect inflammation associated with conditions such as infections, cancers and autoimmune diseases.
It is likely that your son might be suffering from certain infection, which when treated appropriately, his ESR levels would be back to normal.
Kindly consult Paediatrician for proper evaluation and management.
