What Causes Reduced Hemoglobin Levels Along With Dizziness?

Hi I have a Hb result today of 8 taken last night when I went to donate. I have had occasional dizziness in the last while. I have been training for a ten mile race which I need on Sunday. I have three small kids self employed husband and work part time so I guess by the end of the day I m always wrecked. I would have thought I had a good balanced diet.last year my Hb was in the elevens ferritin level was a bit down. Just wondering my options and kind of concerned what the cause is to tell the truth.. Thanks a million

Hello,,
You need to know the cause of your anemia. Your doctor can do tests. It is most likely iron deficiency but you need to be sure before you start taking iron. Anemia can be caused from many things and only testing can give you an answer.
I would advise you not to run the race and to get to your doctor as soon as possible for testing.
The dizziness is caused because you are not getting enough oxygen to your brain due to the anemia.
Regards
