Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 6 year old grandson is experiencing redness on a small area of his penis. He complains that it burns. We have been using the same sensitive soap and free clear all detergents for years. Is it safe to use hydrocortisone or neosporin on the infected area?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. Your kid's problem can be most likely due to fungal infection. In such case using clotrimazole or miconazole cream for local application will be helpful. Avoid hydrocortisone alone as it can flare up the fungal infection. Thanks.
