What Causes Redness In The Sclera Of The Eye Post Tonsillectomy?

My teen daughter recently had a tonsillectomy this past Friday. About an hour after surgery, she developed redness in the whites of her eyes. The redness has gotten worse (color is darker and spreading closer to her pupils) since Friday. I was told it should get better, but it s worse. She has no pain or vision issues, just redness. Should I be concerned?
