What Causes Redness, Heat, Pimple Or Inflammation Of The Skin?

I have recently been told that I have a cyst on my tailbone (MRI), they are saying likely sebaceous , however I do not have any redness, heat, pimple or inflammation of the skin. My symptoms have been intense pain for almost two years, worse with sitting and getting from sitting to standing and also night sweats. I just wondered your thoughts? And if I should be worried that this is something more than a sebaceous cyst?
