What Causes Redness And Swelling On The Face While On Steroids?
I am being treated with steroids (injection followed by 3 days oral dose). I am also taking an albuteral inhaler. I have developed redness and slight swelling (feels hot) on the side of my face and my right eye is painful. Could this be a reaction to this treatment?

it could be an allergic reaction to the medicine in the inhaler. Albuterol is a bronchodilater used for asthma and bronchitis.
the steroids should not be the reason for the red patches. rather we use steroids and anti allergics as a treatment of rashes.
so it is likely that the rashes have come up as an allergy due to the inhaler.
you can discontinue the inhaler and observe if the rashes subside.
take a tablet Allegra 120 mg. along with tab. chymoral Forte both once a day for 5 days to minimize the rashes and swelling.
