What Causes Redness And Swelling At The Incision Site After Squamous Cell Removal?

Had a squamous carcinoma cell above right knee removed in April 2015. A few months ago the area of incision site became inflamed, skin broke open and I put bactroban on it to try and heal it. It got better. A week ago my right knee became painful to touch, redness, swelling above knee, then redness spread down to right ankle. In hospital now, they say it is. A Abscess, but could there be infection?

Hello,

I believe it is infected. You can upload a photo in reports for me to see it. You may need to take antibiotics to treat it.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
