General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Most probably the oozing and painful rib is due to a recent herpes outbreak. A picture will give more details on the affected area.
Should consult immediately with a dermatologist as might need prescription medication. For the moment, keep good local hygiene.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini,
