What Causes Redness And Severe Pain In Eye?

I just had hot oil splashed into my left eye, I felt like the tiny drop went inside. I rinsed it right away but one I feel like there is something inside at the top right side above the cornea. My eyes are not red, painful, or no changes in vision. Please let me know what to do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Splashing of hot oil to the eye can be dangerous. If it is conjuntival damage (white portion), it will take some time to heal. But if it corneal damage (black portion), then it may cause infection with ulceration and heals by scar formation.
Hence, it is better to consult an Optholmoligist and take opinion. They may prescribe prophylactic antibiotic eye drops to prevent infections from happening.
All the best.
